After a brief break AIRecs returns to 2014 holding true to their genre-breaking mission. In a slight departure from housey roots, Bitobo is the debut release from Fearless Gigantic. Born through a love of experimenting, jamming and generally seeing what happens, Fearless Gigantic is the collaboration between Bassist, Guitarist and Vocalist, Nick Brown and Producer/DJ/Oboist, Matt Esau.
Bitobo takes a large shisha drag from the middle-east and smashes is up against an urban backdrop. The Live Mix offers finely picked guitar and heavy bass placed alongside delicate accents from the oboe and electronic programming; the final blend forming a unique and fresh sound that beckons the feet with a tribal beat.
The Dubble Dub remix, courtesy of Ruff Control, lays down a weightier glitch beat alongside a cut up of the original bass line. The mood grows to an industrial climax, eventually throwing the listener back into the heavy groove, with bubbling electronica blipping and glitching at every turn.
